Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification

Healthcare providers or second-year health professions students can earn or renew their Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support

Program Overview

Are you a healthcare provider with a full schedule who needs to either earn or renew your ACLS certification? iHealth@NECC has the answer for you! Earn or renew your Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification using our alternative to the customary classroom training. You will complete a self-directed e-learning component prior to reporting to our fully staffed, state-of-the-art simulation laboratory in the iHealth@NECC facility on the Lawrence campus for the practical skills component. Upon successful completion of both parts, you will be awarded your ACLS card.

This one-credit course uses a problem-oriented, scenario-based educational approach to provide information on airway management and intubation, IV therapy, defibrillation/cardioversion, drug therapy protocols (algorithms), and legal considerations. Upon successful completion of this course, you are eligible for the American Heart Association ACLS card.

Program Requirements

To enroll in this course you must be a healthcare provider or second-year health professions student with a current Basic Life Support (BLS) card.
